“I was out behind the Cockburn Range and found this beautiful boab tree with a Jabiru nest. I spent the afternoon there waiting for better light and to see if my presence would be tolerated. Dissapointed, I was just about to pack up due to the bush fire smoke on the horizon blocking the last moments of the days sun. To my surprise the sun diffused through a gap in the layer causing a surreal glow for less than a minute. At this time the Jabiru seemed to also notice and perhaps stood up to take a look. This would be one of my favourite moments in time that I was fortunate enough to immortalise on film.”
